Luc Frieden studied law in Paris, Cambridge and Harvard and is a lawyer.
At the age of 34 he joined Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker’s government and became successively Minister of Justice, Defence and Finance from 1998 to 2013.
After his government posts, he worked in the private sector in London and Luxembourg, and was Chairman of the Board of a large Luxembourg bank and President of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, where he worked alongside many small and medium-sized enterprises.
